Overview

After bringing the world’s best pros to Ibiza in 2023, we’re back in 2024 with a race open to everyone! Athletes of all abilities can take part in our open 100km race, which features a 2km sea swim, 80km closed-roads bike course and 18km waterfront run.

Race Course

2024 Race Course

Ibiza T100 Age-Group Swim Course

The Swim

The race will kick-off with a 2km sea swim from the classic triathlon host location of Figueretas Beach.

It’s a well protected beach where surf is unlikely but the swim will still favour those athletes used to navigating the natural swell of ocean waters. Water temperature is likely to allow for wetsuits so those whose major strengths are bike and run could benefit from the buoyancy and speed of a wetsuit swim.

BIKE COURSE

Set out from Figuertas Beach, for your cycle across the width of the island. The bike course takes a slightly different route compared to the professionals, consisting of 3 laps of 25km with a 2.3km link from T1 and back to T2.

On a relatively fast course you’ll have the chance to beat your PB over the 100km distance. The route includes a number of climbs suitable for all levels, giving you the opportunity to take in the island’s dramatic landscape.

Ibiza T100 Age-Group Run Course

The Run

Finish your race with an 18km run around the Marina and past the Castle d’Eivissa. A flat and fast run consisting of 3 x 5.1km laps + a 2.6km run off, you’ll be running primarily through Ibiza’s Old Town, enjoying the views and taking in the island’s history before crossing the finish line.

Your race pack contains all the essential items for your race, and you will pick this up either the day before or on the day from the Registration area within the ExCeL South Halls.

SECURITY WRISTBAND: This must be attached to your wrist and not taken off until you have retrieved your bike from Transition after racing. This wristband will be numbered to match your race number.

BIKE NUMBERS: Before the race, stick the three numbered stickers on your helmet (front, left and right) and the other around the seatpost of your bike. These should not be taken off until you remove your bike from Transition after racing.

RACE NUMBER: Your race number must be displayed on your back during the bike phase and on your front during the run. We suggest you attach this to a race belt to give you the flexibility to switch race clothing and easily swap the number from back to front.

RACE TATTOOS: These are to be applied to your body, you can chose whether they are applied  to one on each arm or one on each leg or one on your arm and one on your leg.

SWIM CAP: During the race pack collection process you will also receive a coloured swim cap. Please note that your swim cap may be a different colour to your race bib and wristband. Please ensure you keep hold of it for Sunday if you collect your race pack on Saturday. It is mandatory to wear the swim cap during the swim.

AFTER RACE BAG: On race day, put in clean clothes, dry shoes, etc. and leave it on the fence with your assigned number next to Transition Area. You will find this AFTER THE RACE in the Recovery Area in the Finish Area.

Timing chips will be delivered to participants at Bike Check-In.

In the preparation area, to avoid it getting caught in your bike chain/gears, fasten your timing chip around your left ankle using the velcro strap.

Please do not remove your timing chip until you have completed your triathlon or you will not receive a result.

We advise that you put your wetsuit over the timing chip strap. This will help to keep it secure in the water and prevents you from having to remove the strap in Transition.

All timing chips must be returned once you cross the Finish Line – there will be a charge of 60€ for any unreturned timing chips.

WHEN DOES THE OPEN WATER SWIM & KIDS AQUATHLON START?

Both events take place on Friday 27 September starting at the following times:

Kid’s Aquathlon: 16:30PM

2km Open Water Swim: 18:00PM

1km Open Water Swim: 18:30PM

0.5km Open Water Swim: 18:35PM

Waves start at 08:00am from Figueretas beach on Sunday 29 September.

Wetsuits are COMPULSORY for all participants. Water temperatures will be monitored on the morning of the event and if it is deemed too hot to wear your wetsuit due to the water temperature, we will inform participants at registration and participants should leave their wetsuits in the transition area.

Please make your way to the Swim Start Area at least 20 minutes before your race start time.

The race start procedure will be a ROLLING START from the beach shore.

Kayakers will be on hand to guide participants. Once in the water, you should identify tall landmarks that can help to keep you on course and prevent you weaving around and swimming further than you need to.

The swim course is clockwise, so you should always keep all swim buoys on your right shoulder.

For many, the swim is the most daunting part of the race, but don’t worry! Our
water safety team will be there to guide you and help you, if required. Please identify yourself to our swim start team, who can provide additional support and guidance, should you need it.

Please take your time entering the water on the beach. Should you need a short
time to acclimatise to the water temperature before you start swimming, please move slightly to the left to allow other swimmers to pass from behind.

The water safety team, provided by VDLM Voluntaris de la Mar consists of fully
qualified lifeguards in kayaks and rescue boats as well as bank-based lifeguards on
the beach. If this is your first triathlon, or swimming is not your strongest discipline, we recommend that you position yourself towards the back of the wave.

It may add a few seconds to your time, but it will enable you to get into your rhythm and enjoy the swim more.

If you do get into difficulty, lie on your back and raise yo r arm in the air, a kayak will
come to you and, if necessary, arrange a safety boat to take you to the water’s edge.

No drafting is allowed i.e. taking shelter behind or beside another competitor during the cycling leg of the race.

There will be one (1) double aid station located on the EI-300 road, km. 7,300 (front Fusteria Can Beia, in both bus stops).  You will pass three times on your way to Santa Eularia and another three times  back to Ibiza, at the following kilometres:

In compliance with the new Balearic Waste Law which bans single-use plastics, we have to replace the single-use plastic bottles with reusable cups. Aqualia will be the partner that will provide water in large reusable tanks with several hoses in order to facilitate rapid filling of the cups by the volunteers.
