What Are The T100 Contender Rankings?
The T100 Contenders Ranking System is designed to promote a clear pathway onto the T100 Triathlon World Tour for all professional triathletes.
2026 T100 Contracts
At the end of 2025, the top-5 ranked Contenders athletes (who aren’t already in the top 10 of the T100 Standings) will earn themselves a contract offer for the 2026 T100 Triathlon World Tour.
Bonus Prize Money
The Contenders Rankings offer $560,000 USD in prize money to a total of 80 athletes; the top 40 women and 40 men in the rankings.
Calculation Of Rankings
Each Contender’s 5 best race scores using the PTO World Rankings System will be used to determine an athlete’s T100 Contender Ranking. An athlete can have a maximum of 2 full-distance events counting towards their total. The 5% bonus on an athlete’s single best Gold tier or lower race performance still applies for the T100 Contender Rankings.
Eligibility
Any eligible PTO Member Athlete who is ranked in the PTO World Rankings will be included by default in the T100 Contender Rankings. Athletes who have previously held a T100 Contract in 2024 and declined a new contract for 2025 are ineligible for the T100 Contender Rankings.
Athletes who previously held a T100 Contract and declined a new contract for 2025 due to injury (where the injury would have restricted them from meeting their contract terms) or maternity leave will still be eligible for the T100 Contender Rankings.
Wildcard Spots
The Contenders Rankings will provide up to 3 women’s and men’s Wildcards at every T100 race.
Contenders Wildcard slots are distributed first to Contenders who are ranked in the top-10 of T100 Race to Qatar Standings. If any of the 3 slots remain, they then are distributed in Contender Ranking order. These slots are based on the nearest published T100 Standings and T100 Contender Rankings from 5 weekends prior to the relevant T100 Event.
Any remaining slots available at a T100 race in addition to the 3 Contenders slots will be chosen on a discretionary invitational basis. All PTO Member Athletes are eligible for invitational slots, including those who are ineligible for the Contender Rankings.
