  • WTCS London races feature British Olympic Champions Alex Yee & Georgia Taylor-Brown
  • 5,300 amateurs to compete in T100 to Sprint distance triathlons & team relays
  • Former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw to do first triathlon with BBC Strictly Come Dancing co-star and pro dancer Julian Caillon for Kerslake-Robshaw Foundation
  • 100 places for Women in Tri UK and Badu to broaden participation

London, UKThe third London T00 Triathlon on 25-26 July will see Olympic triathlon racing return to the capital for the first time since 2015, with British Olympic Champions Alex Yee and Georgia Taylor-Brown and World Champion Beth Potter taking centre stage.

Yee, Potter and Taylor-Brown will star in the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) women’s and men’s races, taking on the world’s best triathletes with Olympic qualifying points for LA2028 on the line.

In the UK, the races will be live on the BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport website and app on Saturday 25 July, with the women starting at 1430 local time and the men going at 1615. Or fans are encouraged to come down to London’s Excel where they can watch the action for free.

“It’s very motivating to have a World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) race back in the UK, especially in my hometown of London,” said Yee, who has been encouraged to see a rise in the number of people doing and following the sport.

Talking to the UK national media a couple of weeks ago he said: “My school friends have started messaging me to say they’re doing triathlon for the first time, or that they’ve done their first triathlon. I guess they have an appreciation for what I do now! But they’ve also found it really self-fulfilling.”

T100 weekends are not just about the professionals, they also feature a range of opportunities for amateur athletes of all levels to get involved. From experienced triathletes tackling the T100 distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) to first-time swim, bike and run participants taking on Super Sprint (400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run), Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) and Olympic (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) distance triathlons as well as team relays.

Rugby Star Chris Robsaw Tackles First Triathlon With Strictly Pro Dancer Julian Caillon

The third edition of the London T100 Triathlon will see former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw doing his first ever triathlon (Olympic distance) on Saturday morning from 0840 alongside BBC Strictly Come Dancing co-star and professional dancer Julian Caillon, who are raising money for the Kerslake-Robshaw Foundation (https://www.justgiving.com/page/chrisr-julianc) as well as McFly drummer Harry Judd

“I think what is so great about the T100 is the camaraderie, and that’s what you do miss when you retire,” said Robshaw (pictured above).

“The competing, the crowds, the buzz, the excitement, but also the nerves. It is going to be tough, but I’ve enjoyed the challenge of the training and I’m looking forward to putting it all together on race day.”

I’ll be doing it to raise awareness and funds for the Kerslake-Robshaw Foundation, which me and my wife started about four or five years ago…to empower young lives through music and sport. So far, we’ve helped over 3,000 children and given out more than £300,000 in grants around the country.”

“Rugby versus dancing – it doesn’t get much more different, apart from the length of your shorts at times,” joked Australian Caillon (pictured above and below).

“We’re so different, yet we’re trying to achieve the same goal. It doesn’t matter where you come from, or what background you have, triathlon is for everyone.”

“In a world where everything seems to encourage us to be indoors or, as we lose connection with the natural world and other people, it is invaluable to have a sport that has a community that encourages us to speak to each other while promoting a healthy lifestyle.”

Everyone’s Welcome!

The PTO has been working closely with British Triathlon on this year’s event, having secured National Lottery funding from UK Sport and the two are working hard to get more first time triathletes involved. Their activity includes: more than 100 start line places reserved for organisations like Women In Tri UK, Cycle Sisters and Badu; women’s only modesty changing areas at the transition from swim to bike; and larger swim caps to accommodate thicker, curlier hair, dreadlocks, weaves & braids. These measures sit within a broader commitment to gender-inclusive policies across all race distances, aimed at removing barriers and increasing participation for women at every stage of their triathlon journey.

Badu Community Swim organised by British Triathlon to mark 50 Days until London T100 Triathlon weekend.

To maximise the impact of the event, British Triathlon has also introduced new sustainability and legacy programmes co-designed with communities in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets. What works well across London will be scaled nationally through their Home Nation partners, ensuring sustainable, long term impact across the UK.
